Weekend Rent-a-Movie....

So I figured it mite be fun to do reviews on the latest movies I saw, since I'm a pretty avid movie-goer and renter... This weekend, I've rented: Tokyo Godfathers, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, and a classic, The Princess Bride....

Tokyo Godfathers is about 3 homeless people, a middle-aged man, a drag-queen, and a runaway teenager, who find an abandoned baby as they were digging in garbage, and as they try to track down the baby's mother to confront her, they bump into parts of their past that they had tried to leave behind... yes, it is an animated movie, but it is quite a heart-felt movie regardless and it'd be unfair to judge it as "just another anime" for it does have a good story... with hilarious by-chance happenings and an interesting twist towards the end... just full of surprises that'll leave you giggling and startled all at once...

Many of you have probably seen Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, but for those who haven't and are not familiar with the whole Charlie's Angels sequels, here's a quick run through, Full Throttle is the second of now a 2 part sequel about 3 women who work as "private investigators", though they do much more than just "investigate", both movies (the 1st being just Charlie's Angels) are quite action-packed, much recommended for anyone into watching hot girls kick some ass. Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Lui make a great team of beautiful super agents out to get the bad guys...

As for The Princess Bride, which, yes, I haven't seen before, though I assume most of you have for I hear about it from everyone all the time... It's actually a better movie than I expected, pretty funny indeed, as the main protagonist guy in the movie is the same guy who played Robin Hood in Robin Hood: Men in Tights... although this movie came before that one and the guy is a bit younger, but quite handsome!=P All in all, its sounds a bit corny when u read the summary in the back, but when you watch it, you realize it's supposed to be corny and that's why it's so funny!

Oh! and I hope to watch Spiderman 2 sometime next week, so stay tuned for that review!

Time of death: 1:30am.....

So Onyx and Goldie didn't survive the nite.... cause of death: unknown.... I guess I was just so anxious to get them back into their home after they had been stuck in the jar for so long, that I didn't think of letting the tank run for a bit first and then putting them in a baggie and floating them in the tank for awhile, I mean it was their home for the past year practically... *sigh* I guess they just weren't used to San Francisco water.... man! I had them the whole time I was in SC, and they were fine, completely happy in their tank, then I bring them home in a different container, then put them back in their tank and bam! they die... guess they preferred the jar better.... damn it! I spent half of my day just setting their tank back up yesterday! and then I lose them that nite! just my luck... they had been growing too, both of them grew like an inch.... and earlier that nite Erica was just saying how they were such pretty goldfish...

Obituaries

June 23, 2004: Onyx and Goldie died of unknown causes at 1:30 in the morning. Onyx, a black moore in his prime, was only about 10 months old. Having resided most of his life in Santa Cruz, CA. at the UC Santa Cruz campus, he enjoyed his home with the two college girls roaming about outside.
Goldie, a fantail who was also about 10 months old, was Onyx's partner in their Santa Cruz home. He also enjoyed his time there, even though sometimes it was a little warm. Although the couple had squabbles now and then, at the end they always got along.
May they be in peace where ever their spirits have found a new home.

Fishies are finally home...

So I finally got around to cleaning and setting back up the tank for Onyx and Goldie... now they're back in their home!

I think they're quite happy to be home, considering that they had to be stuck in one of those plastic jars that they package rolls of packets of seasoned nori (seaweed) in. It was the only way I could bring them back home with me in the car, since the jar had a lid that would prevent splashing....
anyways, here's another pic of them in their roomy home....

I tried to take some close-up pics of them, but my crappy digi cam just wouldn't register the details, making them look like black and orange blobs..... oh well, hopefully somehow I can save up for a real digi cam this summer....

Back to SC

So I'm gonna take the bio road... don't ask me if it's the rite one, I'm just going my instinct... anyways, it's way too late to really quit now... I've only got one more year!
But yeah, this means going back to SC for summer school... gotta take that damn genetics over again... the 7-week summer session starts Mon. 6/21, but since I didn't plan on this before, I'll probably be driving back home after class that Monday until I figure out where I'm staying down there... or crash at a friend's place, which I'll probably end up doing for the first couple of weeks till I figure out a better solution...
On a brighter note, I'm going to the HOOBASTANK CONCERT! July 26!!! It's gonna be awesome! but I kinda got ahead of myself (a little too excited) and bought 2 tickets... when I only knew I was going... so... who wants to go to a Hoobastank concert with me in SC?! OH! maybe I'll have like a contest or sumthing....
Now officially taking entries to win a trip** to the Hoobastank concert with the lovely Sophia on Mon. July 26th, 6:30pm at the Santa Cruz Civic Auditorium... please enter via the tag board*, with a short but concise reason as to why you would be the best person to go to the concert with! A decision will be made by or on Mon. July 12th, 12:00am...
*one entry per person please!
** trip includes transportation to and from concert plus ticket, but accommodations (food, somewhere to stay for the night, etc.) may not be included, as to the "judge's" discretion...
